Dominions Controls Engineering Services group engineers and commissions controls engineering solutions for a variety of automotive and general industry applications. The team is dedicated to quality, on time engineering. As a member of the Controls Engineering services team, you will work alongside our customers and other members of controls engineering teams to design, build, program, and integrate custom automated equipment and solutions for a variety of product lines.
CONTROLS SOFTWARE DESIGNER
POSITION SUMMARY
Dominion’s Advanced Controls Engineering team is dedicated to quality, on time engineering. As a member of the Controls Design team you’ll work alongside our Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Documentation teams to design, build, program, and integrate custom automated equipment and solutions for a variety of product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- software design including PLC programs, HMI applications, drive applications, and device communication networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P).
- your knowledge and experience of automation, customer and industry standards to develop and design machine controls and produce required customer deliverables.
Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. Reporting status, preparing and completing project action plans.
Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement. Updates personal and group knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and assisting team members.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Capable of developing PLC programs and HMI applications that meet project requirements and customer specifications.
Experienced with customer and industry specifications with recent, relative work history.
Ability to work directly with customers independently or as part of a project team to support other departments by participating in meetings, project open issues and status reports.
Minimum of 3 years of experience
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Knowledge of industry standards, common practices and customer requirements with recent, relevant work experience including GM, Stellantis or Ford projects.
GM certifications and safety training. GCCH, GCCS, ePlan, MPS, ESWP.
Experienced with plant systems. SEP, GEP, MERS, RPM, FIS, PFCS, Broadcast
RSLogix, PLC5, Factory Talk View, Siemens TIA Portal, Servos, VFDs
Experienced with General Assembly, BIW Systems, Tire and Wheel Systems, Evac and Fill Equipment, Conveyors and End of Line Automation systems and processes.
CONTROLS HARDWARE DESIGNER
POSITION SUMMARY
Dominion’s Advanced Controls Engineering team is dedicated to quality, on time engineering. As a member of the Controls Design team you’ll work alongside our Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Documentation teams to design, build, program, and integrate custom automated equipment and solutions for a variety of product lines.
The Controls Hardware Designer leads and/or supports the design efforts of the controls team assigned to a project. The Controls Hardware Designer may function as the primary point of contact to support project controls design requirements based upon project assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- hardware design including electrical circuits, control panels, pneumatics, hydraulics, communication networks, variable frequency drives and servo motor controls.
- your knowledge and experience of automation, customer and industry standards to develop and design machine controls and produce required customer deliverables.

Ability to work directly with customers independently or as part of a project team to support other departments by participating in meetings, project open issues and status reports.
Minimum of 3 years of experience

As a member of the Controls Design team, you’ll work alongside our Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Documentation teams to design, build, program, and integrate custom automated equipment and solutions for a variety of product lines.
The Controls Project Engineer leads the design efforts of the controls team assigned to a project. The Controls Project Engineer functions as the primary point of contact to support project controls design requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- project from inception through completion as the single point of contact to internal departments and customers. Lead an assigned design team or work independently on smaller projects.
- to all customer requirements and coordinates team efforts with internal departments. Coordinates customer meetings, open issues, approvals and releases.
Ensures compliance to project specifications and schedule. Reports status, prepares and completes project action plans as required.
Works with internal departments to ensure awareness and compliance to project requirements. Coordinates changes, revisions and aids project manager and estimating departments.
